About Jason Ellis

Founder.
Operator.
Partner.

Whole leader.

Jason spent two decades building businesses at scale. In addition to building businesses, he has been intentional about building his family life. Jason is the proud father of his two daughters, Anabelle and Madeline, and proud husband to his wife of over twenty years, Mary. Jason’s hobbies include almost anything outside — biking, hiking, golf, skiing, fishing — or any activity with his family and close friends.

In 2001, he co-founded Spring Mobile with six retail stores in Utah. By the time it was acquired by GameStop in 2013, it had grown to several hundred retails stores. It subsequently became a platform that completed 37 independent acquisitions, and approached $1 billion in annual revenue — all as AT&T’s largest exclusive retail distribution partner.

Alongside Spring Mobile, he co-founded Simply Mac in 2006, which became Apple’s largest and fastest-growing authorized reseller. Simply Mac was sold to GameStop in 2012. After the sale of both retail businesses, Jason went on to serve as President of GameStop’s Technology Brands Division — the company’s fastest-growing segment — for six years as a member of its senior public-company leadership team. Spring Mobile and Simply Mac were subsequently resold to private buyers in 2019, completing two full-cycle exits.

Jason also served as Operating President and Board Member of Gadget Guard, a private equity-backed consumer products company that was sold to L Catterton in 2016 — a third major exit, this time to one of the largest consumer-focused PE firms in the world.

In the same year GameStop was set to acquire Spring Mobile and Simply Mac, Jason underwent a craniotomy. Navigating a serious neurological health crisis while stepping into a public company executive role reshaped how he thinks about resilience, identity under pressure, and what it means to perform when the personal and professional collide simultaneously. More recently, a serious accident involving an immediate family member has required a significant reprioritization of how he allocates his time and presence.

These experiences are not separate from his advisory work — they are foundational to it.

They are why the conversation about the whole leader is one he takes seriously, and why CEOs find in Jason a partner who has been there personally and professionally.

Today, Jason focuses exclusively on 3Park Partners, where he serves as a confidential advisor and board member for companies navigating the moments that matter most. He holds an Executive MBA from Pepperdine University, recently completed the Chief Product Officer Executive Program at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, and is a U.S. military veteran.
